| Parenting Class Outline Good parenting skills are not taught but caught through a modeled relationship. You will learn and continually need to apply these principles: v The value and source of fatherhood and motherhood v What baggage are we transferring from our parents v We teach what we know, but we reproduce who we are v Loving and respectful relationship as parents v Personal roles as father and mother v Parenting is not a right, but a choice v Parents are role models for their children v A child spells love ----- (TIME) v The power of our spoken words v Agreement between parents, Team work v Unity as parents and family health v Providing clear guidelines and boundaries for children v Children are a gift to us v We do not own our children, we are stewards of them v Balanced discipline, values, love and respect v Anger management, communication, sex and money conflicts Abuse prevention, knowing the signs and your role as a parent |
